Saunagus is a type of aromatherapy practiced in a sauna. A gusmester mixes water with essential oils and pours them on the hot stones. Then, the gusmester will circulate the combined vapors by swinging a towel or a fan. This creates a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. We call this the “heavy meditation”.
A saunagus session lasts approximately 75 minutes including breaks. We hold 3 rounds of about 12 minutes each, with breaks of approximately 8 minutes between rounds.
At Sauna85, we use only essential oils and carefully plan the perfect combination of scents. We also use music in our saunagus sessions to create the perfect atmosphere.
